Happy Father’s Day to All the Superheroes out There!
Dads don’t always get the most credit for their children. They’re often at work and miss the bedtime routine, or get criticized for having the cheek to ask if they can play golf at the weekend. But the truth is that studies have repeatedly shown a male role model really can make all the difference in a child’s life.
For many children Dad is the “good cop” that will let them stay up late, give them the tasty treats and throw them in their air with no regard for a risk assessment. They can sweep in at the end of the day and still have the energy to wind any child up full of excitement, just when Mum has spent the last hour trying to calm them down with lullabies and lavender baths.
So on Father’s Day when many of the UK will rush out to the nearest supermarket for a bottle of something Dad might like, it’s worth remembering that all Dad really wants is to be the hero in his child’s life. Most Dads would settle for that. After all “Superhero” was probably their dream job as a kid!
So enjoy yourselves this Father’s Day, spend some quality time with your family and do the simple things that keep you all smiling. Because before too long your little one will grow up and you’ll wonder where all that time went…
